I meant to include the cosplay first time around, but I didn't because it was taking too long and I had stuff to do.
took the actual photos, but I helped by yelling at people to come over X3
and her friend came to find me(and buy a book, woo~)! They were dressed as Tiger and Bunny! It was awesome.
as Professor Layton! Not only was his cosplay fabulous, he challenged me to a puzzle! I picked medium and I got it right ^-^ My reward was a golden apple, which I ate X3 It was nummy.
Princess Sapphire from Ribbon Knight! A manga by Tezuka Osamu, it's about a princess who must disguise herself as a prince, because the law allows only a male heir to inherit the throne... it's a bit more complicated than that, but it's a fun manga. This lady was awesome and she was really happy that I recognised the cosplay!
She also let me try on her hat X3 -
RINCEWIND He bought a book too X3 He had such an awesome costume!
It really shouldn't surprise you that I'm a huge Discworld fan.
There were two decepticons with this guy, but I didn't recognise them >.<
Apparently this is
Digimon cosplay! I saw T.K first and then I was like OH MAH GLOB ALSO MATT and they let us have a picture! I saw Masaru walk past 3 times before I finally yelled at him for a picture X3
What time is it?!
We collected ponies the whole time X3 That IS Doctor Whooves, but sadly his hand is in the way of his cutie mark. And oh my gosh, there was a Daring Do! Big Mac was awesome and stopped to chat to us! ..partly because I screamed like fangirl when I realised what I was seeing (I did that a lot over the weekend ^-^; )
Everyone else awesome X3 From left to right:
The Doctor and K9, Merida and.. er... (someone enlighten me), Dokuro-chan from Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan(which I shouldn't admit to having watched-), Velvet from Odin Sphere, Kaneda from Akira and.. um..(I think that's a Warcraft class?), Miles Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright, Loki from the Avengers, Gravity Falls peeps, Rosette Christopher from Chrono Crusade, Cross Yuki from Vampire Knight, Maes Hughes from Fullmetal Alchemist and Dark Magician Girl from Yu-Gi-Oh.
Phew.
Cosplay spotting is fun =3

How it went:
We're back and we had a great weekend! Friday was actually not too fun because we had to get up at 3:30am to get the MegaBus from Manchester >.< Then we had to figure out how to get to the Expo site and buy Oyster cards and find our stall (bit of a nightmare all round!) and set up. All of which was made more difficult because we were carting around 2 suitcases full of books and leaflets and bookmarks... I was tired and stressed and I was just not on form on Friday. We only sold 5 copies that day, which was pretty dismal. But apparently Friday is always pretty awful for sales, so I was comforted by that. I was actually really ill when I got up the next morning(caused by stress) and for the first half an hour on Saturday I was passed out on the table. I felt like I would never make it through the 9 hour day >.< But I felt better really quickly and we made up for our poor sales the previous day. Sunday went less well, but I didn't feel sick at all and we only missed our target by one book. We sold 56 books in total, which is over a 10th of my total print run and over a 5th of my remaining print run. We gave away all but one of the bookmarks too! We took 5 packs, so that is a LOT of bookmarks. Our suitcases were sooo much lighter on the way home, it was wonderful!
Of course, I also got chance to walk around and buy some stuff (mostly on Sunday, when it was quiet in the morning) and I got me some cool swag!
:thumb334951835:
Most of it was bought from - I bought the two Scandanavia and the World comics on offer and also the Fresh Epics anthology, since I'm also a fan of the other members too. I also bought a print of Nini the cute kappa I actually ran back to my stall which was very nearly on the other side of the hall to get more money to buy things X3 The only other things I bought that day were two g1 ponies. I used to own a heck of a lot of g1 ponies, but my mothet threw them out ;_; So I'm slowly building my collection back up, plus ones I wanted when I was little that were in the show.
and both came to find me and I was so happy I know there were other people looking for me who couldn't find me... my stupid phone wasn't loud enough for me to hear from my bag, so I missed about 3 phonecalls >.< My editor spent a whole hour trying to find me and had to collar some MCM employees and ask them for help.
I had a great weekend despite the most un-fun start we had and I hope we will be there again in May! I'm hoping to be at Memorobilia Birmingham at the end of November, but I'm not sure I can afford to. (I actually made a pretty big loss, despite my good sales - but what I want is exposure.) But we shall see... I was advised that I really ought to be in the Comic Village, so I shall look into that.
I hope you all had a fun weekend too, and thanks for reading!

"Ambrosia. The Drink of the Gods. Thick, syrupy and vanilla flavoured, for some reason. It also contains enough calories to kill a mortal on the spot, so it's just as well that mortals are no longer mortals by the time they finish drinking it. Like Seralina, for example. She hadn't really meant to become a god. She hadn't taken the warning 'This will make of ye a god' seriously. It was her general policy not to trust any claim beyond 'It tastes all right, really'. She certainly didn't trust anything that sounded made-up or used words like 'dynamic'. Going round trusting words like 'dynamic' could get you into trouble. As it turned out, so could ignoring warning labels."

My experiences with harassment + reactions to it
Probably some people will unwatch me for this like that time I complained about boob groping in anime being unacceptable and contributing to the very real problem that it is in Japan but oh well. I won't miss you, off you pop. This week a debate has been sparked about women's safety after the murder of Sarah Everard. No doubt this is not the only murder recently however women have been prompted to share their experiences of harassment to show how just how common it is. Now, yes, I know not all men. And I know we have a lot of work to do on men's rights too. Men should be allowed paternity leave, to be stay at home dads, and men's mental health and abuse against men is not talked about nearly enough. I'm a feminist, okay? That means I believe in equal rights despite your gender. Contrary to popular belief, feminist does not equal 'I hate men'. I've called out people treating men like a piece of meat, saying old fashioned things like 'All those men, and that girl has to carry her own
It's NaNoWriMo again~
For anyone who doesn't know, NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month. It happens every year and is a competition where writers all over the world write a novel of 50k words or more starting 1st November and finishing by the 30th! Website: https://nanowrimo.org/ My debut novel Eggs, Butter, Sugar and Disaster was a NaNo novel! I won in 2007. I also played along with Miss Prince in 2011 though I didn't complete the first draft until March 2012, so I failed that time (and I started with a chapter that time too!) Although the novel getting to completed first draft stage is always a win, no matter how long it takes you~ I can't participate for reals in NaNo because I'd be automatically disqualified for a: starting this novel before today and b: being a published author BUT I've had a chapter of Zaran's/Hettie's book done since April and not made any further progress for various reasons. So I decided enough is enough, I'm going to play along and try to complete the
I want my old DA back
So today has been a fun game of 'Did the Facebook algorithms just not show that post to anyone or is it that no-one gives a crap??' Has anyone else ever played this game? Doesn't it suck massively? I know I should not let FB likes affect my self esteem but previously I had DA where I knew I could go and show my hours and years of effort to people I knew would go 'Hey, good job!' but DA decided to make eclipse mandatory and it sucks and everyone hates it and I've lost the safe haven and online home I had been patiently building for 9 years. Only about 3 people see my work on here now. I'm also just very, very low on happy what with all the terrible things happening right now and that I am probably fired at the end of the week (it cannot be helped and I will not starve and it's actually of advantage to me in some ways, but neither is it great) You know what? I kind of hate Facebook. It always makes me feel inadequate, and I avoid it for months at a time. It probably is my lack
