I guess I could also mention DokiDoki actually.  Anyway.

I'll be at Comic Con Leicester tomorrow at the Athena. Which I presume is a venue and not a goddess.  I'll have the usual, plus stickers!

By London I'll also have Tyrian and Will stickers, woo!  London is at the usual place, the eXcel Centre.  I presume.  That's where I'm going anyway! XD I'll be in the Comic Village section.

I'll have some small amounts of new merchandise but I've had some teething problems branching out into new merch so.. um.. yeah.  But like I said... STICKERS!  Who doesn't want stickers, right?  Possibly prints and a few keyrings too.

This week has been awesome and poo in equal amounts.  Monday was amazing. I went on a school visit and it just went wonderfully. The kids were all so enthusiastic and nice and the staff were lovely and I came away feeling really inspired. It really is the best thing for an author to get to talk to their audience.  Which is why you should all make to come and say hi at conventions =3  Seriously the things that I talk about the most and that get me motivated to write are the people who come and say 'Hi, I liked your work!' and it keeps me going.  Sometimes it can be very lonely being an author, new or not. At conventions particularly, when I am sat there trying to get people to just give my work a chance... well, you get some unkind looks and comments and it can really get you down. There is very much a 'Who are you and why should I care?' kind of attitude, like everyone wants you to be famous already.  Because if you aren't famous already, you can't possibly have written anything good.  I mean, really.  So those 'I liked it!' moments really shine through and brighten your day.  I'm really looking forward to London.  It's the con that is the most expensive, the one that's the hardest to make pay, the most exhausting... but I keep doing it because it's the one where I get to see the most people and the only con I get to see some of my friends.

I was planning to have a new cosplay for this year, but I was too broke >.<  But I'll still be dressing as Will one of the days.  If you see a fool wandering around, do say hi.

So, I'm off to bed so I can be up early to get to Leicester.  That should be fun too!

Thanks for reading,

Alicia

P.S. I FINALLY FINISHED THE HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN COLLECTION FINALLY HA HA HA HAA!!

'I'll get a job', she'd thought. 'Earn my own ticket,' she'd thought. Lucinda's parents had agreed that it was a good idea. 'It'll teach you some responsibility,' they'd said.
Lucinda was currently staring down a dragon, dressed as a man, on only her first day in gainful employment. She suspected her parents would not think it such a good idea if they knew.

"Ambrosia. The Drink of the Gods. Thick, syrupy and vanilla flavoured, for some reason. It also contains enough calories to kill a mortal on the spot, so it's just as well that mortals are no longer mortals by the time they finish drinking it. Like Seralina, for example. She hadn't really meant to become a god. She hadn't taken the warning 'This will make of ye a god' seriously. It was her general policy not to trust any claim beyond 'It tastes all right, really'. She certainly didn't trust anything that sounded made-up or used words like 'dynamic'. Going round trusting words like 'dynamic' could get you into trouble. As it turned out, so could ignoring warning labels."
