More edit: A description from my Tumblr that phrases what this is more-or-less about without all that whining that was in the explanation I deleted -
EDIT: I forgot to explain that the character there is a dragon yokai. Animal yokai have two forms, one animal form that is their true appearance and a human-like one that is a disguise to allow them to hide from humans. I don't think dragon yokai are a real thing in folklore, but they were the only way I could reconcile the type of dragons that are just nasty beasts with the type that are wise and talk and have ancestors. MORE EDIT: Descendants, I mean descendants. Geez. I mean presumably they DO have ancestors, but you know what I mean.
Haha this probably looks like I'm having a go at someone, but I'm not - this has been a comic a long time coming, and the product of a few comments, some from TOTAL STRANGERS who just out and went 'So this is a book about you is it?' (there was a semi-rant accompanying this, but I deleted it because whining)
I wanted to make this to show you Tyrian has hobbies that don't involve that other thing. Unless he writes about it I guess. He might. I had trouble with Will's line, because Will is smart enough not to say something like that and I originally was going to draw Aurelia in there but despite having the tact of a brick she has read all of Tyrian's stuff for years and it wouldn't be something she'd bother remarking on. So I feel like Will meant it as a compliment and Tyr took it the wrong way. Also this sort of thing does count as historical fiction in the Otherworlds, particularly in Fairyland, because this stuff happens all the time, but more so in the old days.

“So you get told the same stories in Fairyland?” Lucinda frowned “That's weird. What do you call them, 'human tales'?” she joked.
“Oh no.” Erlina shook her head “We call them history.”

This is more or less my own reaction to the accusation that my characters are a lot like me and the horrible realisation that the accusation is pretty just.
I never set out to create characters like me, it’s just that it’s natural for children to take after their parents, you know? I think all my characters have a little bit of me about them from my hobbies to my mannerisms to my petty jealousy of people doing a lot better than me at things I want to do better at with no apparent effort XD
