Description

Yet another edit: I decided to FINALLY change one of the images on my profile page, so I wanted to improve this... so I added in more of the elements present on the finished piece, though there are still a couple missing.

EDIT:  You can see the finished one here!  As well as read a sample of the book, woo! www.amazon.co.uk/Treasure-Vamp…

EDIT: This is as far as I will go for the DA upload.  But like, holy cow when did I learn to draw clouds?! o.o -pleased and surprised at progress-

So this is the WIP for the other book cover image.  (Way to do them in order, Alicia)

I'm a long way from finished, and I won't be posting the completely finished version, but I'll upload something that comes near it when I get there.

You get the gist anyway.  Dude is stuck on a whole lotta ocean.

Blargh even though I used a reference image, the perspective seems off.  I made a raft out of rakes! Maybe I should have used more rakes :l   -sigh- Welp, never said I'd finished...

Notes for myself for tomorrow: don't forget Josh's shadow.  The bottom of the raft should be visible through the water. Mermaid. Cat. Ship. Clouds.

A free sample of the book this is for can be found here:

He had no idea what wearing a hat had to do with being a gentleman, but he thought he looked quite fetching, so it didn't hurt to wear one.
“Joshua!” his mother called from downstairs. “Aren't you ready yet? It's nearly opening time! You'll be late!”
“Coming, mother!” he shouted back. He hurried downstairs and found her waiting impatiently by the door.
“Your father will be waiting for you,” she said, pressing a bundle into his hands. “Your lunch. There's cheese and bread and a little wine. I put an apple in there, too.”
“Mother, I can get lunch at the shop,” he said. “You didn't need to trouble yourself.”
“You listen here Joshua, you're nearly grown-up now, and I
